Field Service Technician II

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently install, inspect, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Kelvion equipment.
• Perform startup and operational verification of customer equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and thermal performance issues.
• Lead preventive maintenance activities and complete detailed service reports.
• Support warranty inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Cook routine field activities with customers and project teams.
• Mentor and train Field Service Technician I personnel.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, LOTO, PPE, JHA, fall protection, and customer safety requirements.
• Travel to customer sites as required

PRODUCT SPECIFIC RESPONSILITIES

• Air Fin Coolers: Perform gearbox replacements, bearing replacement, fan balancing, laser alignment, shaft alignment, vibration checks, lubrication system inspection, and fan drive troubleshooting.
• Dry Coolers: Troubleshoot EC motors, VFDs, controls, sensors, hydronic systems, pumps, coils, glycol systems, and perform commissioning activities.
• Plate Heat Exchangers: Perform complete plate pack rebuilds, gasket replacement, compression measurement, leak detection, hydrostatic testing, and piping/flange work.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting using multimeters and megohm meters.
• Basic vibration analysis and rotating equipment diagnostics.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, P&ID, and assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, piping, and heat exchangers.
• Excellent customer communication and service skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

• Associate degree, trade school, military technical training, or equivalent industrial experience.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance, HVAC, rotating equipment, cooling systems, or field service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain Passport and TWIC card.
• Ability to travel up to 80%.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Forklift Certification
• MEWP Certification
• First Aid/CPR

CAREER PROGRESSION

• Technician II employees are expected to independently lead routine service work, commission equipment, mentor Technician I employees, and demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills before promotion to Field Service Technician III.

• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, vibration.
• Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, vibration.
• Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation.
• Usually loud noise level in the work environment.
