Field Service Technician I

About the role

The Field Service Technician I provides field support to clients, focusing on commissioning, troubleshooting, repair or retrofitting mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves interfacing with various departments and clients, compiling operation and maintenance information, and assisting with quality assurance and control.

Responsibilities

  • Compile O&M information
  • Transmit critical O&M information during a project
  • Aid in compilation of the final sets of IOM manuals
  • Create legible "red-line" drawings to submit to Project Manager
  • Direct the field commissioning of a project
  • Documentally commission the mechanical and electrical portions of the project
  • Interface with other Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers
  • Assist the Production Department in assembly or training of factory personnel
  • Assist in Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions
  • Perform or oversee QC checks as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as designated by TAS

Requirements

  • Significant project field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance work
  • Experience with verification of compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other relevant codes and practices
  • Ability to work independently at the job site
  • Must have or can obtain applicable safety certifications including but not limited to OSHA10 General Construction, NFPA-70E
  • Ability to work in field construction conditions
  • Must have a safe driving record

Skills

  • Ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Office projects
  • Exposure to at least one brand of PLC or Building controls
  • Ability to work independently at the job site

Qualifications

  • Education and Training: HVAC Trade school and/or apprenticeship training preferred. Military training and/or technical work experience could be considered in lieu of trade school certification.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Position is 80% travel both domestically and internationally. The schedule may vary based on project needs.
