This position is based in Evans, CO. Following the acquisition of ChampionX by SLB on July 16, 2025, employment will begin with ChampionX and transition to SLB as part of the planned integration.

About the role

As a Pump Mechanic Field Technician, you will perform basic to advanced maintenance, new equipment installations, and troubleshooting either in the shop or field. Join a global technology company driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the commissioning and decommissioning of multiplex pump skids and components at oil and gas wellsites for use on Jet Pump artificial lift, Salt Water Disposal (SWD) Systems, and other facilities.
  • Perform repairs and troubleshoot multiplex pumps and auxiliary components, including electric motors and their variable speed drives (VSD), safety switches, flow meters, various valves, lubrication, and sump pumps.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment at regular intervals.
  • Write up service tickets accurately and timely for customer review and invoicing.
  • Develop professional relationships with customers through effective communication and respond to technical questions.
  • Contribute to the department's continuous improvement culture.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service multiplex pumps (Triplex and Quintuplex) and Jet Pump systems used for artificial lift in the oil and gas industry.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for the facility as required by the business.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area and company truck.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a field service mechanic troubleshooting and repairing multiplex pumps and jet pump artificial lift systems.
  • Acceptable driving record per company standards.
  • Must be 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to walk in customer field locations, which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist, and push regularly.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
  • Work is primarily executed at customer field locations in varying weather and temperature conditions.
  • Some work is performed indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • May include visits to customer offices or field locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of downhole pumps and completions.
  • Working knowledge of multi-cylinder engines.
  • Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) and Automation experience.

Pay

Hourly rate: $24.00 - $26.00 DOE.
