Field Service Technician - Detroit, MI

About the role

The Field Service Technician will install and maintain processing and packaging machinery for food manufacturers. The role involves traveling 80% of the time, primarily within the Southwest region, and includes troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills to install and maintain processing & packaging machinery.
• Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
• Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customers apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
• Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.

Requirements

• Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience - servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
• Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
• Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.

Qualifications

• Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
• Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired.

Salary

$65k to $85k a year
