About the Role

Siemens Mobility is seeking Field Service Technicians in St. Louis to assist in the coordination and implementation of service and maintenance activities for SIEMENS VENTURE coaches. You will support maintenance activities with customers, train their maintenance personnel, and advise on best maintenance techniques. This role emphasizes safety, customer support, and collaboration with operational, engineering, and dispatching departments to ensure safe, cost-effective, and efficient railroad operations.

This is a 3rd shift position (9:30 PM – 6:00 AM), Monday through Friday, with weekly hours subject to change based on customer schedules and maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive customer service experience by building rapport with customer management and maintenance facility personnel.
  • Deliver high-quality technical advice to the customer’s maintenance workforce to improve equipment reliability of the Charger fleet.
  • Respond to and support troubleshooting and repairs for assigned service requests.
  • Deliver ongoing system operation training for customers.
  • Identify non-conformance issues and recommend improvements.
  • Assist local customer staff with troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Ensure accurate communication between the customer, Rail Support Center, and field team.
  • Provide feedback to the team on performance, quality, and efficiency issues.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors (e.g., Cummins) to ensure proper operation of vendor components on locomotives.
  • Advance customers’ maintenance practices to align with Charger locomotive manuals.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electrical technology or a related technical discipline, or a minimum of 2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical (AC and DC circuits), mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Strong technical communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel for training (~10%, including up to 3 months of in-person training in Chicago, IL).

Qualifications

  • Experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenance, commissioning, or other rail-related roles.
  • Knowledge of Railroad Regulatory, FRA requirements, and guidelines.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer-sponsored work authorization.
