Field Service Technician - CCE

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair compact construction equipment including track loaders, wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, among other light to medium duty equipment.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed in the field; a company truck, phone, and computer are provided.
- Using independent judgment, assume responsibility for the safe maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment, which involve mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures; maintain a service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
- Positively interact with manager and team members to satisfy customer needs.
- Provide assistance to other technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairs.
- Utilize modern communication methods both internal and external, to ensure job status is conveyed in a timely manner and the customer’s needs are being exceeded.
- Document labor, parts used, and description of work performed assuring that work orders can be closed and billed as communicated with the customer.
- Willing to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor.
- Identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned/required.
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable experience.
- 2+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably in the field.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Ability to diagnose equipment without supervision; able to understand and communicate schematics.
- Desire to provide exceptional customer service with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solver who possesses modern communication and computer skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Willing and able to respond to emergency after-hour calls, as directed by supervisor.
- Must operate equipment safely.
- Own mechanic tool set.
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Obtain a DOT medical certification card.
- Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical.
- This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement.
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
- Lift bulky objects.
- Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.
Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $38.00 to $51.00 per hour. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education, and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.
