Field Service Technician

About the role

At Xylem, we don’t just move water — we solve the world’s toughest water challenges. This role plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing critical pumping and wastewater-handling equipment that customers rely on every day.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair pumps, diesel engines, electrical systems, control panels, and wastewater pumping units.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing to ensure equipment is job-ready between rentals.
• Aid customers with setup and installation of pumping systems, including wastewater bypass systems, on job sites.
• Use computerized diagnostic tools to evaluate performance and identify issues.
• Inspect returned equipment, identify damage, and report findings to the Service Manager.
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours service needs.

Requirements

• Experience in diesel, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or pump troubleshooting.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL training provided if needed).
• Comfort working outdoors and traveling locally.
• Experience with wastewater equipment (preferred but not required — we train!)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel locally to customer sites.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $32/hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills and experience.
