About the role
At Xylem, we don’t just move water — we solve the world’s toughest water challenges. This role plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing critical pumping and wastewater-handling equipment that customers rely on every day.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair pumps, diesel engines, electrical systems, control panels, and wastewater pumping units.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing to ensure equipment is job-ready between rentals.
- Aid customers with setup and installation of pumping systems, including wastewater bypass systems, on job sites.
- Use computerized diagnostic tools to evaluate performance and identify issues.
- Inspect returned equipment, identify damage, and report findings to the Service Manager.
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours service needs.
Requirements
- Experience in diesel, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or pump troubleshooting.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL training provided if needed).
- Comfort working outdoors and traveling locally.
- Experience with wastewater equipment (preferred but not required — we train!)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel locally to customer sites.

- Hands-on mechanical, electrical, and diesel troubleshooting skills.

Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $32/hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills and experience.
