Responsibilities
- Perform major mechanical engine repairs.
- Overhaul engines as needed.
- Perform transmission repairs up to and including rebuilds if necessary.
- Rebuild driveline components such as undercarriage.
- Show strong understanding of various truck types and perform complex repairs and modifications.
- Mastery of complicated electrical and hydraulic systems and ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Build and retrofit hydraulic systems for different equipment.
- Plan and execute major fabrication projects like water systems and custom field use equipment.
- Use fabrication skills to design and build products for field use without templates.
- Install and configure electrical systems including emergency shutdowns and new controls.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization, or combination of schooling and at least 5 years of relevant work experience in heavy equipment and/or automotive.
- Valid Driver’s License meeting work location requirements.
- CDL (type dependent on work location).
- Crane Inspector Certification as needed by location.
- At least 8 ASE Certifications in on-road or combination of other formal training.

- Mastery of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Great attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Self-motivation and understanding of timeframes without being told.
- Ability to help others without being asked and provide advice.
- Role modeling behavior in the shop.
- Strong skills in mentoring and training with the ability to give constructive feedback.
- Leadership training preferred.
- Ability to obtain and utilize certifications as needed.
Additional Notes
- Must have reliable transportation and show up to work on time every day.
- The ability to travel frequently and work varied hours including overtime as needed.
