About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Shop and Field Service Technician to support post-sale service activities for industrial and municipal customers. This role combines hands-on shop manufacturing and assembly with field service, equipment installation, system start-up, troubleshooting, retrofits, and customer support. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, dependable team player with strong customer-service skills and experience servicing industrial equipment and systems. The position offers the opportunity to work directly with customers and contribute to projects from shop assembly through field installation and ongoing service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field service, equipment start-up, installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities at customer sites.
  • Support post-sale service activities for industrial and municipal customers.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and support pumps, fans, control panels, and instrumentation.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers when working off-site.
  • Perform field retrofits, system modifications, and equipment upgrades.
  • Conduct customer training and provide technical guidance on installed systems.
  • Perform shop manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and system preparation activities.
  • Assist with plastic manufacturing, piping, and general system assembly.
  • Operate forklifts and other shop equipment as required.
  • Perform HDPE welding and related pipe fabrication activities; training will be provided if needed.
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach during field assignments.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Travel approximately 25%-50% to customer locations based on project requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of field service experience supporting industrial equipment or systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with pumps, fans, control panels, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with equipment start-up, servicing, troubleshooting, or commissioning.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25%-50% for customer-site assignments.
  • Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to provide effective remote technical support.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing/shop environment when not performing field service.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability.
  • Team-oriented mindset and strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, contractors, and project teams.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a small team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HDPE welding or plastic pipe fabrication.
  • Experience with industrial or municipal equipment and systems.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Experience with field installation, commissioning, or system start-up.
  • Technical training, vocational education, or equivalent hands-on experience.
