About the role
As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the trusted technical expert working directly with contractors and equipment operators to install, support, and optimize cutting-edge Topcon Machine Control systems. Your “office” is the jobsite, alongside customers who rely on your expertise to keep projects moving.
Responsibilities
- Install and service Topcon Machine Control systems on: Dozers, Motor Graders, Excavators, Skid Steers, Compactors, Pavers and Curb Machines
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, hydraulic, and electronic systems to improve machine accuracy and performance
- Research and diagnose technical issues to identify effective solutions
- Provide pre- and post-sale technical support for customers and sales teams via: On-site visits, Phone, E-mail, Remote support tools
- Represent the company professionally at customer job sites and build long-term relationships
- Work outdoors in varied conditions: rain, heat, and cold are part of the job
Requirements
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Comfort troubleshooting electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems
- Customer-first mindset with strong communication skills
- Quick learner who enjoys mastering new technology
- Intermediate computer skills (software navigation, diagnostics, documentation)
- Physically capable of: Climbing onto large equipment, Lifting up to 75 pounds
- Willingness to travel as needed (travel fluctuates based on business demands)
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Qualifications
- High school diploma or trade school preferred
- Field experience or prior work with: Heavy equipment, Construction machinery, Automotive, diesel, electrical, or mechanical systems
- Experience with machine control installations is a plus, but not required
- Willingness and aptitude to learn heavy equipment operation and advanced technology
