Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair Nelson Stud Welding systems, including power sources, accessories, and field diesel units.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment.
• Aid customers in person and via phone with equipment, accessory, and technical issues.
• Assist sales representatives with equipment, accessory, and technical issues.
• Perform in-house training and demonstrations for both internal and external customers.
• Weld samples for sales representatives and customers.
• Perform as a boiler outage service technician as required.
• Perform cycle counts as directed.
• Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities when required.
• Complete company deliveries to various customer/warehouse locations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment.
• Occasionally perform general building maintenance.

Requirements

• Associate degree (A.S./A.A.S.) or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret complex technical documents, electrical schematics, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, area, circumference, and volume.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer software.
