Field Service Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems.
• Handles installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Isolates equipment start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Makes technical presentations and has a strong knowledge of products.
• Trains customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
• Provides technical support for the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems.
• Acts as the liaison between the squadron and the Small Arms Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of preventative and corrective aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must possess experience as an Air Force Mechanic with a focus on engine maintenance and production processes.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim secret needed to start.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have public speaking skills and the ability to deliver presentations to groups.
• Must have experience with maintenance data collection systems.
• Must have the motivation and ability to research directives, regulations and policies to determine solutions to problems, issues and concerns.
• Must have a commitment to customer service and be proactive in implementing policy as well as identifying and solving problems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn company software.

Physical Requirements

• Must have dexterity in fingers in both hands.
• Able to pick up and carry 70 lbs. for a distance of 50 feet.
• Able to withstand exposure to temperature extremes in performance of duties.

Travel and Shift Requirements

• Candidate will be required to travel up to 25% worldwide.
• Candidate will be working a rotating shift.
