About the Opportunity

The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence by performing on-site installations, maintenance, repairs, and technical support for critical data center, power, and control systems. This position is responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, collaborating with engineering and customer service teams to meet client needs, and maintaining the functionality and reliability of the organization's products in the field. The role involves significant travel within the Northeast Region and supports key operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive field service installations, commissioning, routine maintenance, and emergency repairs for critical data center power and control systems
  • Diagnose, isolate, and troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic technical issues encountered on-site
  • Collaborate directly with internal engineering and customer service teams to resolve systemic problems and fulfill specific customer technical requirements
  • Support all ongoing installation operations, equipment swap-outs, and hardware upgrades as needed
  • Maintain accurate service records, diagnostic logs, and site safety documentation for all completed field activities
  • Travel up to 50% within the designated Northeast regional territory to respond to scheduled installations and urgent field service requests

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience executing field service installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs in data centers, industrial electrical, or high-power environments
  • Strong electrical diagnostic, blueprint reading, and technical problem-solving skills utilizing digital multimeters and testing equipment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering, product management, and customer service teams
  • Demonstrated willingness and flexibility to travel extensively (up to 50%) within the assigned Northeast regional territory
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer-facing approach to handling technical service delivery on-site
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree, technical certification, or military training in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Automation, or a closely related discipline
  • Foundational knowledge of power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), variable frequency drives (VFDs), or programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record suitable for operating field service vehicles

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The target baseline salary framework is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 USD annually. Final salary placement within this tier is calibrated dynamically based on the candidate's core electrical diagnostics background, data center equipment certifications, and localized regional market benchmarks. Performance-based bonus opportunities aligned with corporate incentive plans add to the base compensation package.
