Field Service Technician

About the Role

The position is responsible for servicing and installing various electronic equipment, including security and point of sale systems. This role ensures timely and professional handling of service requests and maintenance repairs, contributing to the smooth operation of businesses across retail, commercial, fleet, aviation, marine, and emergency power generation sectors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect, replace, and repair electro-mechanical devices such as cash registers, coin changers, security equipment, alarms, and point of sale equipment.
• Complete service requests and maintenance repairs in a timely and professional manner.
• Review work orders, manuals, and drawings to perform equipment maintenance and service accurately.
• Utilize testing devices and various hand and power tools related to the job.
• Provide temporary support in other geographical areas for new installations and upgrades as needed.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation with other technicians in the area.
• Willingness to travel up to 30-40% overnight.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good driving record.
• Proficiency in using computers and smartphones.

Qualifications

• Experience with various POS systems (Verifone/NCR) is a plus.
• Experience with alarms is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role involves moderate to strenuous physical exertion, including walking, climbing, standing, carrying materials, stooping, kneeling, and bending at the waist. Technicians must be able to climb ladders and lift/carry up to 70 lbs. Work is performed both outdoors and indoors.
