Field Service Technician

Job Summary

This position requires frequent travel to Ohio CAT and customer locations. A willingness to study and learn new skills and technical information related to the job is required.

• General technical service skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Experience with construction or heavy equipment
• Strong DC electrical and machine electronic systems knowledge
• Able to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision—excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong computer and software skills

Job Qualifications

• High school graduate minimum
• College and continued education in a technical field are a plus
• Experience related to construction or heavy equipment service and repair is required
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record following Ohio CAT standards (4 or fewer moving violation points)

Physical Requirements

• Lifting/Carrying: 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50 lb. pulling
• Standing/Sitting: Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
• Dexterity: Normal
• Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers
