About the role
We are seeking an Installation and Service Technician to join our dynamic team at Johnson Controls. Our mission is to reimagine the performance of buildings to serve people, places, and the planet. As a key member of our team, you will work in retail stores to install and repair Inventory Control, RFID, and Video equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on retail products and equipment at customer sites.
- Keep track of your work orders via computer, including products serviced, work performed, hours and parts utilized.
- Maintain and manage an accurate parts inventory at levels that insure a first-time fix.
- Demonstrate and train customers how to use their equipment properly.
- Keep your manager in the loop about your customer's satisfaction, any potential sales opportunities, or any recurring problems.
- Take care of other tasks as required.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years associate degree in Electronics and/or Networking, or technical military equivalent required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Three years prior work experience in related field.
- Competed basic EAS and Video training and certifications.
- Highly organized, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
- General knowledge of electronics required.
- Ability to obtain state license as required for all pertinent states (state dependent).
- Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
- Must be capable of working independently or as a team.
- Working Knowledge of MS Office and basic PC skills.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and Scope documents.
- Certified in all Video & RFID solutions currently sold and serviced by Retail – preferred.
- Network Certification - Full competency in all required networking, advanced performance.
- Networking Fundamentals.
- Networking Fundamentals Part One: Network Addresses.
- TRS - Networking 101.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform service on more complete integrated solutions.
Skills
- Basic EAS and Video training and certifications.
- MS Office and basic PC skills.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and Scope documents.
- Network Certification - Full competency in all required networking, advanced performance.
- Networking Fundamentals.
- Networking Fundamentals Part One: Network Addresses.
- TRS - Networking 101.

Pay
Hiring hourly range: $25.19-$34.66 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
