Responsibilities & Expectations
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while delivering top-notch service to customers.
- Travel to customers in the Western US to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
- Install electrical components such as conduit, cable, low and medium voltage switchgear and apparatus.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all types of electrical and electronic systems.
- Use electrical test meters like DVM’s, megger, ammeters, hipot, ductor, Doble, etc.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
- Work with AC and DC power circuits and have a thorough knowledge of electrical theory.
- Have general knowledge of low & medium voltage circuit breakers.
- Perform basic control wiring installation using schematics and wiring diagrams with little assistance.
- Maintain personal tools and perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, carrying, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, or standing for prolonged periods.
- Work under pressure in a challenging fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Work independently and follow standard safety practices.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment and work around industrial equipment.
- Be willing to travel and work in several different geographic locations (indoors & outdoors).
- Drive to jobs as a regular function of the role.
Qualifications and Competencies
- At least 3 years electrical experience desired.
- Experience related to utility companies and heavy industry a plus.
- Electrical education or certifications are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good customer relations skills and ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a challenging fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take direction and act independently.
- Ability to work well with a team and manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter and able to make quick decisions.
- Reliable and dependable with a history of being so.
- Able to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, carrying, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, or standing for prolonged periods.
- Willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment and work around industrial equipment.
- Willing to travel and work in several different geographic locations (indoors & outdoors).
- Willing to drive to jobs as a regular function of the role.
- Willing to confidently submit to the background and drug screening process.
