Field Service Technician
About the role
The Field Service Technician provides field technical support for IR products, focusing on customer satisfaction and meeting 24/7 technical service needs. Responsibilities include repair and installation, safety compliance, improving customer responsiveness, and generating sales leads.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support during repair and/or installation of IR’s equipment.
- Ensure safe work practices and report safety incidents promptly.
- Work to enhance customer responsiveness through sales calls, technical walk downs, and solutions.
- Complete required reports such as Service Reports, Customer Call Reports, Expense Reports, and Time Sheets.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance customer response time and data accuracy.
- Comply with department guidelines and procedures to maintain high standards of service.
- Maintain proficiency in vibration analysis and laser alignment equipment.
- Generate sales leads and improve global visibility of IR Aftermarket in the CRM system.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant technical background including millwright, maintenance, engineering, field service experience, or equivalent experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An assigned vehicle, requiring a valid license and passing a Motor Vehicle background check.

Priorities
- Some technical schooling, classwork toward a degree in a technical area.
- Background showing increasing responsibility and leadership.
- Experience specifying replacement parts for highly engineered equipment and products.
- Experience in industrial sales or technical selling.
- Troubleshoot vibration, system, and aerodynamic problems in equipment.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
- Up to 80% travel, with potential for international travel.
Pay Range
The pay range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 annually. The pay range considers a wide range of factors including skills, experience, licensure, and certifications.
