About the role

The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. This role also involves troubleshooting services to assist customers in resolving issues and achieving maximum potential from our solutions. The FST will be the primary representative at the concrete manufacturing plant, installing and maintaining admixture dispensing systems for each Ready-Mix producer.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair admixture dispensing equipment
  • Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance, calibration, and emergency and service repair
  • Coordinate problem resolution with other employees as needed
  • Interface regularly with plant management, batch plant operators, and personnel
  • Assist Field Sales Representatives in winning and maintaining customer contracts
  • Manage 'response time' consistent with customer expectations or agreements
  • Respond to customer requests for assistance, diagnosing and solving technical problems, and providing on-site assistance
  • Manage dispenser service work independently, planning and scheduling daily, weekly, and monthly events
  • Manage customer relations through regular site visits
  • Manage equipment service administration, including ordering equipment, warehouse part restocking, expense reports, service management system compliance, preventative maintenance, calibration scheduling, and compliance
  • Complete all safety training and observe safety procedures
  • Develop a solid understanding of concrete/concrete industry, focusing on the operations of a concrete plant
  • Recommend modifications and product changes to improve reliability of equipment
  • Work with R&D to provide input on new system designs or research/testing concepts of operation of new parts and provide input to improve reliability & performance

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years' experience in mechanical/engineering work
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Experience with computer systems configuration, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24-volt DC electrical systems, and hydraulic system principles
  • Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented, particularly about maintaining records
  • Hands-on Electro-Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and comply with facial hair policy for respirator users
  • Must be able to comply with DOT requirements for a Non CDL commercial motor vehicle driver medical certification exam; drug screen, background check (safety performance and driving record)
  • Flexible work hours, overnight travel
  • Able to respond to short notice project work and emergency service calls

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. The national pay range for this position is $53,500 to $82,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 8% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $55,700 to $86,400.
