Field Service Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician position at Fives Landis Corp is available in Hagerstown, Maryland. This role is open to candidates from MD, VA, WV, PA, KY, NY, IL, IN, OH and MI.

Responsibilities

• Set up, integrate, and thoroughly test equipment and systems at client locations to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
• Demonstrate equipment performance and capabilities to customers, confirming proper operation and satisfaction with system standards.
• Provide rapid support for critical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Perform emergency repairs by diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective and timely solutions.
• Educate and assist clients on proper equipment operation, maximizing efficiency and user confidence.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with customers and internal teams to provide timely service updates and maintain alignment.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison, managing customer interactions and ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of issues.
• Submit detailed service reports, including parts used, time spent, and corrective actions taken.

Requirements

• A minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
• Two years of field service experience.
• Knowledge of precision cylindrical grinding.
• Centerless and double disc grinding knowledge is a plus.
• Understanding of CNC machines with servo drives & motors.
• Programmable Logic Controls such as Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, etc.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with a flexible and eager attitude towards travel (75%).

Skills

• Technical skills in precision cylindrical grinding, centerless and double disc grinding, CNC machines, and programmable logic controls.

Pay

$28 – $38 per hour (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)

Schedule

Flexibility in location, with no requirement to be based at the Hagerstown, Maryland headquarters.
