Essential Functions

  • Reads work order and observes truck operation to diagnose problems.
  • Offers solutions meeting customer specifications and provides estimates when necessary.
  • Makes mechanical repairs after a thorough inspection and analysis of the breakdown.
  • Records repair descriptions on work orders, including equipment model and serial number, and records hour meter readings.
  • Communicates with customers regarding repair needs or work completed.
  • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Lubricates moving parts and verifies repairs by driving the truck to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Represents Equipment Depot to customers and maintains a professional image and cleanliness.
  • Tracks and schedules routine maintenance and service-related issues for the service van with operations or service manager.
  • Works safely to protect customers, Equipment Depot, and the public.
  • Returns paperwork to field service coordinator daily, including work orders, fuel receipts, sublet invoices, etc.
  • Sets time cards by 9:00 a.m. daily, and if dispatched from home, reports time to the service administrator over the phone by 9:00 a.m. daily.
