Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician, you will install, debug, and provide technical maintenance for product and component hardware and software, mainly on customer premises. You will perform scheduled inspections, cleaning, and other services, as well as minor product repairs within an assigned territory. Your role includes inspecting products for correct operation, resolving issues, and escalating when necessary. You will schedule services, complete required paperwork, and work with customers to ensure satisfaction and understanding of product functionality.

Responsibilities

• Gain familiarity with Field Service Technician practices and procedures.
• With guidance or alongside experienced technicians, perform the following:
  • Incident Handling: Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot hardware and software failures. Perform component-level hardware repairs, clean and adjust mechanical components, configure and install software.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine checks per documented procedures and refill consumables as directed.
  • IMAC/R: Install, move, add, change, and remove hardware and software products.
  • Customer Training: Instruct and train customers on the usage and operation of installed hardware and software.
• Participate in regular hardware and software trainings (on-the-job, classroom, and web-based).
• Contribute to achieving agreed KPIs and assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Education or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Field Services.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that satisfies Diebold Nixdorf’s fleet requirements.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $22 to $25 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, geographic location, and relevant experience. Certain roles may include additional components like incentive opportunities or variable compensation, which will be discussed during the interview process.
