Responsibilities
- Perform inspections required to determine cause of failure is done following established guidelines and are completed with the cause identified.
- Responsible for the effective repair of machine components in the field, at high levels of quality.
- Recondition and repair equipment and components.
- Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned.
- Order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs.
- Perform the repairs in a safe and effective manner.
- Ensure all repairs are completed as assigned and the cosmetic appearance are up to standards.
- Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs.
- Ensure all records are legible and in compliance with established methods.
- Report all record keeping daily from the field, even when not returning daily to the company.
- Maintain shop tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain personal appearance in a professional and neat condition.
- Wear all personal protective equipment, as required; and urges others to do so.
- All communications with customers and co-workers are conducted in a manner reflecting respect and integrity.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years working as equipment technician.
- Be able to work independently of direct supervision in a field environment.
- Contribute to spirit of teamwork and cooperation through the branch location, specifically with parts personnel and other service technicians.
- Spanish speaking is valued.
- A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred.
- Prior experience as a field service technician preferred.
- Clean driving history.
Physical Requirements
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment.
- Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20-50 pounds and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 10-20 pounds.
- Regularity of standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, grasping or pulling and lifting objects.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
- Consistently exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
