Field Service Technician

Responsibilities
- Installs and maintains cryogenic pressure vessels in industrial, medical, specialty gas and welding markets.
- Attends in-house and external training to develop expertise in working with bulk gas delivery systems serviced by Airgas Mid South.
- Performs installation, preventative maintenance and repairs on bulk gas delivery systems manufactured or distributed by Airgas Mid South.
- Collaborates with the team to safely operate an Airgas vehicle from facility to customer locations to complete duties and work orders.
- Maintains company vehicle, tools, truck inventory and equipment to be able to respond to customer needs in a timely manner.
- Delivers, installs and maintains all cryogenic pressure vessels in the customer base.
- Performs preventative maintenance checks on a regularly scheduled basis of all cryogenic pressure vessels.
- Coordination and maintenance of inventory of parts and supplies needed to perform duties.
- Responsible management of hazardous materials daily in a safe and approved manner.
- Install piping and final line regulator systems for medical and industrial applications.
- Set alarms for automatic emergency reserve systems of gases at hospitals.
- Install manifolds for use with high-pressure gas cylinders.
- Install and maintain cryogenic pumps and drives to all branch locations.
- Do sight surveys at prospective customer locations to understand requirements and build alignment on what is needed to perform the installations.
- Install and maintain cryogenic pumping systems on delivery trucks.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace and attend safety meetings.
- Follows the Airgas safety procedures and attends monthly safety meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- You will need a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
- Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
- Capability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
- Experience and good skills with troubleshooting.
- Valid Drivers license is needed.
- Experience with operating a forklift and maintaining the necessary certifications.
- Will need to pass required testing and obtain Medical Certificate and Brazing License.
- Able to travel with overnight stays.
- Able to read, interpret, and produce detailed process diagrams for customer sites.
- Professional communication with customers and vendors; must maintain a professional appearance.
- Able to read and interpret various documents, including MSDS, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and P&ID’s.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with bulk gas delivery systems.
- Prior experience in the HVAC or plumbing industry.
- Prior experience working on pumps or mechanical machinery.
