About the role

The Field Service Technician position is responsible for providing customer service and support during field visits, building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, interfacing with the Engineering Department to diagnose errors or technical problems, and determining proper solutions. They also understand customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations and briefings, produce timely and detailed service reports, comprehend installation and maintenance manuals, understand shipping bills of materials, packing, and marking methods, complete purchase requisitions, and provide quotes to customers for replacement parts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and support during field visits
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Interface with the Engineering Dept. to diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Understand customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations and briefings
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Comprehend installation and maintenance manual
  • Understand shipping bills of materials, packing, and marking methods
  • Complete purchase requisitions and submit internal requisitions
  • Provide quotes to customers for replacement parts

Requirements

Must have a customer focus with a service-oriented attitude, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to adapt to changes in daily activities, travel and work overtime/weekends as needed, and have a clean driving record.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a similar field. Must have a strong understanding of installation and maintenance manuals, shipping bills of materials, packing, and marking methods. Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
