About the role
Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to join our team as an Equipment Service Mechanic in the field.
We are a full-service equipment company specializing in industrial and construction equipment since 1956.
Responsibilities
- Repair various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, and more.
- Travel to various locations to troubleshoot, perform in-field diagnostic assessments, and repair a wide range of construction equipment and components.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and equipment functionality through in-depth mechanical knowledge and expertise.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress and general updates.
- Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision to decrease equipment downtime while maintaining safe working standards both on-site and during the operation of company vehicles.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year hands-on experience as a service technician repairing and maintaining material handling equipment or in a related industry.
- Own a complete line of tools including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer site.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Other Skills We Are Looking For
- Strong technical skills in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with equipment operation.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
- This Position will be working in operating facilities and outdoors, traveling to customer locations.
- The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- The normal auto hazards will apply.
- Will be frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, twist, climb, and crawl.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or squat.
- Handling/fingering on a daily basis.
- Requires driving a van/truck to and from customer locations.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
- Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.
