About the role
The Field Service Supervisor oversees a field crew involved in comprehensive industrial and mechanical projects including installation, maintenance, and repair of stainless-steel food and dairy equipment. The position requires up to 50% travel with stays varying from 1 – 10 nights, with the occasional emergency projects, and receives a per diem for all overnight stays. Each field crew member is on a rotating on-call schedule, frequency of on-call is based on the size of the crew.
Responsibilities
- Understand customers' scope of work and expectations
- Communicate with crew members and project managers regarding scope of work
- Create concept drawings/sketches
- Identify the root cause of customer's need
- Identify the decision maker for the customer
- Identify timelines, quality required, and manpower (offer real timeline if customer's is not realistic, base timeline off material/labor availability)
- Plan known future material and labor requirements
- Lead person - communicate between other lead persons and project manager as required
- Track and record time spent directly on customer projects, manage time dedicated to billable customer work, and ensure all chargeable hours for customer services are accurately logged in the ERP via the Data Collection App.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Outlook and Word
