About the role
The Field Service Specialist III plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing diagnostic imaging and biomedical equipment. This position involves providing specialized repair and maintenance services, leading within Clinical Engineering, managing service emergencies, and supporting general biomedical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Primarily repairs and maintains intermediate imaging equipment such as DR, basic CT/CT Sim, oncology, and Vascular/Specials
- Significantly reduces contract dependency for high-tech imaging equipment through advanced training
- Led within Clinical Engineering, assists Field Service Specialists (FSS) with imaging equipment repair
- Manages service emergencies, communicates with stakeholders, and orders parts/supplies
- Provides coverage for Clinical Engineering Manager, offers service opportunity input, and analyzes service costs
- Stays current on technology, medical advances, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent military education, graduate of technical program, or equivalent training validated through training certificates
- A minimum of seven years’ experience servicing medical imaging equipment such as General X-Ray (Rad, including but not limited to Rad Rooms, Portables and C-Arms)
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred
- Certified Radiology Equipment Specialists, upon hire
