Job Title: Field Service Regional EngineerJob Description The Field Service Regional Engineer manages, plans, and coordinates activities related to installing equipment at customer sites, investigating and resolving technical issues, and implementing solutions that prevent future operational or service problems. This role combines strong controls and automation expertise with hands-on commissioning and mechanical engineering skills, and involves extensive travel to support a consistent workflow of field projects. Responsibilities Plan, manage, and coordinate field service activities for equipment installation at customer locations.Install, commission, and test equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with technical specifications.Investigate customer reports of technical problems with equipment and diagnose root causes using strong controls and automation knowledge.Troubleshoot and program PLCs to resolve operational issues and optimize system performance.Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to identify, correct, and prevent equipment malfunctions.Develop and implement solutions that eliminate or reduce future operational or service difficulties.Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to understand issues, explain findings, and provide recommendations.Maintain accurate records of service activities, findings, and corrective actions using MS Office tools.Organize and prioritize multiple service assignments in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.Collaborate effectively with a variety of people with different backgrounds, education levels, and areas of expertise.Adhere to safety guidelines while working in high places, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting equipment as required.Travel extensively, up to at least 75% of the year, to support regional field service needs. Essential Skills Strong engineering background with expertise in controls, automation, and programming.Demonstrated PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.Controls engineering expertise, including diagnosing and resolving complex control system issues.Mechanical engineering knowledge applied to field equipment and machinery.Commissioning engineering experience, including startup, testing, and validation of equipment.Valid and clean driver’s license.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with the MS Office suite for documentation, reporting, and communication.Sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills in technical and customer-facing situations.Ability and willingness to travel at least 75% of the year. Work Environment This is a field-based role that requires extensive travel, with at least 75% of the year spent at customer sites. The work environment involves physical demands such as working in high places, climbing ladders and stairs, lifting at least 50 pounds without assistance, and being on your feet for several hours at a time. You will work in varying temperatures and conditions depending on the facility and location. The role is fast-paced and high-demand, with a consistent flow of projects typical of a small, family-oriented operation. Effective and efficient communication is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with a wide range of people and maintain strong attention to detail while working with industrial equipment and control systems. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Belleville, PA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
