Field Service Power Generation Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Hilliard, OH. The role offers a sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay, and benefits.

Completing Repair Activities

Completing repair activities on generators or components, engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner, performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools, maintaining detailed records of service, adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products, and maintaining own tools.

Qualifications

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
• Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.

Requirements

• A current valid license is required for this role.
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.
• This role may require a CDL, which requires a 21 years of age or older driver.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred).
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
• Current relevant electrical certification.

Other Requirements

• Locally valid driving permit.
