About the role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to lead a regional service team supporting power transformers within electric substation systems. This leadership role is responsible for managing operational performance, financial results, project execution, staffing, team development, safety, and customer satisfaction across a defined region.
Responsibilities
- Manage regional profit and loss performance, forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning.
- Lead and develop a team of field service professionals, including hiring, training and certification, performance management, and talent development.
- Oversee execution of service projects, including scheduling, subcontractor management, procurement, contract administration, and customer communication.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, DOT, and OSHA requirements.
- Provide technical support to customers and field crews.
- Project site supervision when required.
- Review field testing data and approve final project reports before customer delivery.
- Support sales efforts through customer relationship development, quoting, scope reviews, job walks, and technical presentations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a bachelor's degree with demonstrated ability to apply and communicate technical concepts.
- Experience in utility or electrical services, specifically power transformers.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and business management skills.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and operational performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sales techniques, marketing concepts, and business development activities.
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
Working Environment
Office-based and field-based work, including customer sites and manufacturing facilities. Approximately 30% travel required.
