About the role
As a Field Service Manager, you will have a high level of involvement and interaction with internal and external customers to solve their service needs. This role requires collaboration with inventory center supervisors and support for the branch, including operations and sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Delegate routine and important tasks, decisions, and set clear objectives and measures while monitoring process, progress, and results for the team.
- Ensure quality control in the field is tracked and documented regularly using monthly tracking reports.
- Maintain positive interactions with customers to uphold and improve the company’s reputation.
- Document customer comments from telephone contact to verify satisfaction and service technician performance.
- Spend 50% of time in the field alongside sales reps and service technicians, solving problems and ensuring efficient materials and information flow.
- Work closely with quality insurance inspectors to document quality issues in the plant and field.
- Collaborate with project managers and sales reps for service-related opportunities.
- Work with the Production Scheduler and Supervisors to verify building and material compliance with local codes, assisted by inspection agencies.
- Serve as a technical resource for the Inventory Center, including knowledge of local and state building codes.
- Hold frequent development discussions with Service Coordinators and Technicians, aligning tasks with their career goals.
- Provide challenging tasks and construct development plans for the team.
- Maintain fleet records and manage up to 20 service vehicles and trailers, including fuel, maintenance, licensing, and replacement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience building and leading teams, motivating others, and fostering a strong morale and environment.
- Direct, truthful, and trusted individual who keeps confidences.

- Drive for results; action-oriented and able to exceed goals successfully.
- Ability to orchestrate multiple activities to accomplish goals efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to various settings and styles.
- Approachable, builds rapport, and maintains two-way dialogue.
- Building/construction experience with the ability to quickly learn technical skills.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
