Field Service Engineer - Raleigh, North Carolina

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality customer support through instrument installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance on robotic instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and repair Hamilton equipment.
• Report problems and perform root cause analysis on instrument failures.
• Support the Raleigh, North Carolina location and surrounding areas.
• Work in the field to visit and support customer sites.
• Ensure on-time arrival at customer sites by following traffic laws and correctly routing oneself.

Qualifications

• A high desire for quality.
• Demonstrated experience working in the field as well as corporate setting.
• Ability to train non-technical personnel on highly technical material.
• Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner necessary due to potential hazardous chemicals and biologicals.
• Ability to learn new robotic operating systems.
• Current, valid Driver License.
• Successfully completed a motor vehicle history check.
• Personal, reliable transportation with valid registration and insurance that can safely transport necessary equipment.

Education/Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a regionally accredited, not-for-profit university.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronics, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
• Experience in technical field service and working with customers in the life science, clinical, or pharmaceutical field is preferred.
• Experience in automation or similar field is required.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move approximately 60 lbs.
