Field Service Engineer - Early Career Engineering Training Program
About the Role
Shape the future of energy with Siemens Energy’s industry-leading Field Service Engineer in Training Program. This unique opportunity blends classroom instruction, hands-on technical training, and real-world field experience, allowing you to work with some of the largest and most advanced turbines and generators in the world. Collaborate with experienced engineers to support critical energy infrastructure while gaining the skills to become a recognized field engineering expert. Launch a dynamic career where every project is unique, each day presents new challenges, and your contributions directly support reliable energy generation.
During your first 12 months, you will complete classroom and instructor-led training in Orlando, FL and Houston, TX (Deer Park) and participate in on-the-job training with expert engineers at multiple customer sites across the U.S. This includes working directly with field service engineers to develop skills in equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and Siemens Energy’s business systems.
After completing training, you will supervise technicians and mechanics during power plant maintenance shutdowns (both planned and unplanned), disassemble, inspect, and reassemble turbines and generators, and coordinate upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems to increase power output and efficiency. You will also collaborate with worldwide engineering staff on niche mechanical and electrical testing, serve as the primary customer contact during outages, and travel throughout North America to support maintenance, inspections, repairs, upgrades, and commissioning activities on gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
