About the role
Bruker Life Science Mass Spectrometry is searching for a seasoned Technical Sales Representative to support products in the Midwest US territory (MN, NE, IA, ND, SD). This position can be based in Minneapolis/Rochester, St. Louis, Iowa City, Omaha, or other locations within the territory.
Responsibilities
- Meets or exceeds assigned territory sales target by maintaining and growing sales in current accounts and identifying and closing business in new accounts.
- Accurately forecasts prospects through the sales cycle and maintains a balanced list of prospects that reflects sales targets.
- Interprets customer needs and identifies Bruker Life Science Mass Spectrometry (BDAL) solutions, building and articulating the BDAL value proposition.
- Understands the customer decision-making process, including key decision makers and influencers, and cultivates key accounts.
- Provides sales territory information, forecasts, reports, and other business data through the BDAL management structure.
- Completes a business plan for the assigned territory, detailing specific strategies and activities required to achieve goals.
- Identifies and works with internal resources to enhance customer interaction through the sales process.
- Maintains and enhances sales skills through technical and sales training.
- Develops and maintains a territory database.
- Maintains and enhances technical knowledge on BDAL products, company literature and information, and competition.
- Maintains knowledge to discuss commercial contract terms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent scientific degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years’ sales experience in a related industry, with demonstrated success.
- Mass Spectrometry background strongly preferred.
- Essential experience with contact management database software (e.g., Salesforce.com), Microsoft Teams, and MS Office; ability to learn new software packages.
- Experience with Bruker software is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to work with a wide variety of knowledge levels, customer backgrounds, and internal teams (e.g., management, service, applications).
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing commercial environment and manage differing time constraints.
- Must maintain a home office with telephone lines and computer connectivity.
- Flexibility and strong time management skills are essential.
- In-depth industry knowledge and self-motivation to work toward shared goals.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%, as extensive travel is required.
- Must have and maintain valid travel documentation.
Pay
The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $79,200.00 to $141,000.00. The base salary will depend on factors such as education, training, experience, geographic location, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive.
