Field Sales Representative
About the role
This role supports a new delivery program by recruiting local businesses to join a hub delivery partner network across Louisiana. You will operate as a field-based sales and outreach specialist, visiting businesses in targeted towns, presenting the program, qualifying prospects, and guiding them through the application process. You will collaborate closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors, drive referrals through community organizations, and help coordinate recruitment events.
Responsibilities
- Visit prospective businesses door to door in targeted towns within approximately a two-hour driving distance.
- Present and pitch the new delivery partner program to prospective businesses and generate interest in applying.
- Qualify prospective businesses based on program criteria and guide them through the full application process.
- Lead and manage sales and outreach activities using Salesforce, including tracking leads and maintaining an organized pipeline.
- Support the Field Manager in planning, coordinating, and hosting community recruitment events such as lunch-and-learn sessions and town hall meetings.
- Collaborate with the Field Manager to build relationships with local influencers, including chambers of commerce and economic development associations, to drive referrals.
- Import and update Excel spreadsheets into Salesforce on a weekly basis to ensure accurate and current data.
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective partners, answering questions and addressing concerns throughout the onboarding process.
- Identify and solve problems for applicants in the field, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Use outbound sales techniques to reach new prospects and follow up with interested businesses.
- Maintain a high sense of urgency and professionalism in all interactions with prospective partners and community stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of experience in sales and/or customer service.
- Outside or field sales experience.
- CRM experience, with Salesforce strongly preferred.
- Experience with outbound sales activities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and update data in Salesforce, including importing Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to travel up to approximately four hours round trip daily within the assigned territory.
- Attention to detail and ability to solve problems for applicants in the field.
- Comfort working with multiple systems and technology (tech savvy).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in a role involving sales and/or negotiation with customers.
- Field sales experience beyond the minimum requirement is a plus.
- Demonstrated professionalism and enthusiasm for working collaboratively with others.
- High sense of urgency and ownership in driving results.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple leads and events simultaneously.
- Ability to build relationships with community organizations and local influencers.
- Comfort conducting presentations and pitches in person to business owners and stakeholders.
Work Environment
This is a field-based role with significant time spent on the road, typically 4–5 days per week, visiting businesses across targeted towns within Louisiana. The remaining time is spent working from home to manage follow-ups, data entry, and planning activities. Travel may involve up to approximately four hours of round-trip driving per day. You will collaborate closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors and will regularly interact with community organizations, chambers of commerce, and economic development associations. Work tools include Salesforce as the primary CRM, Excel for data handling, and multiple technology systems to support outreach and reporting. The position is based in Louisiana, with headcount designated for areas such as Lafayette and Shreveport, and involves a mix of independent field work and remote administrative tasks.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $25.50/hr.
