Field Sales Manager for the Communications Market covering Northern Texas, selling to distributors, contractors, engineers, and end users. Ideally based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
Responsibilities
- Identify new accounts in the assigned territory.
- Determine key buying influences within each project.
- Coordinate routine and effective sales calls on identified buying influences.
- Maintain a 6–12 month pipeline of sales opportunities.
- Coordinate PLP product field trials with customers and internal resources.
- Arrange and conduct all product demonstrations in the territory.
- Assist in the management and development of Manufacturers’ Representatives and Distributors/Wholesalers.
- Investigate new product opportunities with customers.
- Collaborate with PLP Product Management and R&E to address market or product issues.
- Monitor and control territory expenses and product sample requests.
- Provide annual (or more frequent) sales forecasts.
- Understand PLP product applications and markets to effectively counter competing products.
- Develop and implement an annual sales plan using a team-based approach.
- Resolve all customer complaints regarding PLP products or services.
- Deliver marketing messaging via Teams, webinars, or in-person events.
- Assemble PLP products in office, training, or outdoor settings to demonstrate aerial or underground installations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10 years of outside sales experience with a track record of increasing responsibility and success.
- Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area or Northern Texas.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with PLP’s vehicle allowance program.
- Ability to manage manufacturer representatives.
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Comfort with public speaking.
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
Schedule
- Full-time, home-office position with a minimum of 75% travel required.
