Field Sales Consultant, Interiors(Alexandria, VA)

About the role

A Home Services Sales Consultant sells the Company's exterior and interior products and services to customers through outside sales visits, primarily at customer homes and trade shows. The role is primarily field-based, with most working time spent traveling and away from a dedicated office environment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' homes to conduct professional sales presentations, assess needs, and make tailored product recommendations.
• Develop and negotiate customized price quotes, present warranty information, and offer financial options that meet customer needs while maintaining profitability.
• Complete required sales contracts, paperwork, and measurements using industry-standard methods to ensure orders meet installation specifications.
• Proactively solicit and acquire new customers inside assigned THD stores and during industry events (such as Home Shows).
• Maintain local relationships with store management and associates, educate them on HDIS offerings, and increase awareness of HDIS programs.
• Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and stay informed about HDIS product offerings.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• 1+ years of previous related work experience.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Must continuously stand, walk, or regularly lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
• Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort (e.g., dust, fumes, or odors).
• Typically requires overnight travel 5% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior in-home or virtual sales experience.
• Prior home improvement industry experience.
• Prior experience with successful lead generation.
• Computer and application skills, including use of varied technology (email, iPad, apps, etc.).
