About the role

The Field Safety Representative is a member of the Facilities Services (FS) Infra team and is responsible for partnering with vendors and contractors. The FSR provides oversight and coaching related to safety on behalf of the project owner, serving as a front-line resource to accomplish work safely, strengthen safety culture, and improve hazard awareness as part of a diverse team.

The Facilities Services Field Safety Representative ensures that industry, site, and agency safety requirements are followed at all times. The FSR supports the FS Safety PM by providing daily reports of observations and findings, assists contractors in the field with solutions aligned to site best practices, and maintains a minimum of 75% field presence daily.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the core value of Zero Harm Habits with all stakeholders
  • Promote and enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs
  • Provide safety support to construction operations and collaborate with field operations
  • Enable a safe work environment through continuous field observations
  • Document daily performance and opportunities via Safety Based Observations
  • Use independent judgment to resolve safety-related issues
  • Enforce corporate safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with Accident/Incident Management and Recordkeeping, including Root Cause Analysis
  • Prepare daily reporting and tracking for accident/incident reports, near miss reports, auditor reports, engagement activities, observations, orientations, safety trainings, and daily/weekly activities
  • Review administrative controls such as Safe Work Planning, Job Hazard Analysis, and Safe Work Procedures
  • Participate in site Graded Walks, Pre-Task Plans review, Tier I Category B Audits and Inspections, Contractors & Vendors Safety Meetings
  • Conduct regular field safety inspections and daily/weekly safety audits

Requirements

  • Completed OSHA 30 training
  • 3 years of field safety experience in construction, oil and gas, chemical, industrial, or related field
  • GED / High School Diploma (required); Associate of Science degree (preferred)
  • Knowledge of general construction safety and health regulations, including OSHA 1926/1910
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Office 365 productivity tools
  • Familiarity with OSHA Regulatory/Reporting Guidelines
  • Proficient communication skills in presentation, coaching/mentoring, and collaboration
