Field Safety Technician

About the role

The Field Safety Technician will maintain a safe work environment while working for customers, provide site safety supervision, service and repair breathing air equipment, and service and repair fire extinguishers.

Responsibilities

• Calibration on portable and fixed gas detection equipment, air sampling equipment, sound level equipment, and flow tests on respiratory equipment at customer locations
• Perform calibrations, repairs, rebuilds, and general maintenance on customer equipment
• Maintain safety paperwork
• Work in the field and shop
• Conform to all customer and DXP safety regulations

Requirements

• 6+ months experience in an oil field/field services role, preferably safety related (strongly preferred, but not required — trainable position)
• Ability to work under air with SAR (supplied air respirator)
• Ability to train and work as CSRT (confined space rescue team) member
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must pass a drug test and background check
• Must have an acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma

Working Conditions

• Cold winters outdoors
• Some overtime as required
• Some overnight travel as required by market conditions

Training/Certifications

• OSHA 10
• CSRT
• First Aid/CPR/BBP
