About the role

Indiana Farmers Insurance is seeking an experienced, customer-oriented Field Property Claims professional to serve customers in communities throughout Southwest Indiana, including Evansville, Jasper, Vincennes, and surrounding areas. This role offers the opportunity to handle a diverse mix of personal, commercial, and farm property claims, including unique agricultural risks. As a trusted field representative, you'll investigate losses, evaluate coverage, prepare property estimates, and guide customers through the claims process with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve personal, commercial, and farm property claims from first notice through settlement.
  • Inspect, evaluate, and estimate structural property losses across a variety of property types, including safely accessing roofs, basements, crawl spaces, and other loss locations.
  • Interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and coverage provisions to make sound claim decisions.
  • Identify and refer potentially fraudulent claims for further investigation.
  • Manage customer expectations, navigate difficult conversations, and deliver outstanding service throughout the claims process.

Requirements

  • Field property claims experience, preferably with an insurance carrier.
  • Strong expertise in inspecting and estimating structural property losses.
  • Ability to handle personal, commercial, and farm property claims.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating software (preferred).
  • Experience handling farm property claims, agricultural structures, equipment, and farm exposures (preferred).
  • College degree (preferred).
  • Industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA, or other insurance-related credentials (strongly preferred).
