Field Operations Technician

As a Field Operations Technician, you will focus on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation while building trust with clients through best-in-class customer service.

You will perform installation, repair, configuration, and testing of moves, additions, changes, and disconnects (MACD) on Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment, as well as support optical, electrical, voice, and data services. Testing circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR) is also part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service experience to every client
• Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally using effective de-escalation techniques
• Perform on-site installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rack-mounted networking equipment
• Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits for internet connectivity
• Follow Ledcor’s safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment at all times

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience in telecommunications, business installation, and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer-focused approach to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
• Degree or diploma from a technical college (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience working in the field independently and thriving in a dynamic environment
• Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills

Work Conditions

• Expected to travel with a company-provided vehicle
• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working at heights or in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
• Work in all types of weather conditions deemed safe
