Field Operations Technician

About the role

Ledcor Technical Services has been building and servicing communication networks for customers across North America since 1979. As a Field Operations Technician, you will perform restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation, with a focus on building trust with clients and delivering exceptional customer service. You will work on moves, additions, changes, and disconnects (MACD) for Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment, supporting optical, electrical, voice, and data services, and test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service experience to every client
• Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally using effective de-escalation techniques
• Perform on-site installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rack-mounted networking equipment
• Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits for internet connectivity
• Follow Ledcor’s safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment at all times

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience in telecommunications, business installation, and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer-focused approach to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
• Degree or diploma from a technical college (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Experience working in the field independently and thriving in a dynamic environment
• Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills

Work Conditions

• Expected to travel with a company-provided vehicle
• Able to meet physical requirements, including sitting, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 pounds)
• Work at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
• Work in all types of weather conditions deemed safe
