Field Operations Coordinator I

Responsibilities

  • Works with railroads to ensure all permits and license requirements are met before any construction/work occurs on or near railroad property
  • Coordinates closely with the customer to ensure all paperwork is completed accurately
  • Actively anticipates, identifies, and resolves issues, initiating steps to manage any conflicts
  • Creates and edits documents using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat PDF
  • Expertly utilizes email and verbal communication with customers
  • Strong organizational skills to manage numerous customers daily
  • Answers diverse phone calls with excellent customer service skills
  • Minimal travel expected (within 50 miles of the office), such as delivering equipment to the field or visiting the Post Office/FedEx
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture
  • Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs

Within 6 to 12 months, the Field Operations Coordinator must be proficient in at least one railroad property.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with electronic communications including phone, email, and text
  • Experience in dealing with customers firsthand, working through difficult situations, and resolving issues
  • Proven experience making decisions while following departmental guidelines
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of administrative and/or project management experience
