About the Role

The Field Medical Director (FMD) – Northeast will report to the Senior Field Medical Director Lead, East. This role focuses on increasing awareness of the unmet need and pathogenesis of IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) and the role of targeting BAFF and APRIL as a potentially transformative, disease-modifying therapy. The FMD will also support expanded medical affairs activities related to membranous nephropathy and lupus nephritis, future indications for atacicept. This position involves developing relationships with the external scientific and medical community and collaborating with cross-functional teams in clinical development, commercial, market access, and other key areas.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Key External Experts through meetings (both face-to-face and virtual), congresses, and advisory boards.
  • Deliver proactive disease state education and reactive discussions regarding product and clinical trial data.
  • Provide appropriate scientific, clinical, and educational support to internal and external customers.
  • Build a territory plan and establish key relationships with external communities, including professional societies.
  • Support cross-functional medical pre-launch processes to ensure launch readiness and medical excellence.
  • Take an active role in planning and executing educational activities at key scientific congresses, and help develop the medical affairs congress strategy at national and regional levels.
  • Lead and/or participate in special projects as necessary.
  • Travel required (up to 50%).

Qualifications

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD in Life Sciences.
  • 3+ years of Medical Affairs experience required.
  • Experience in facilitating external relationships and interacting with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; experienced in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Strong background in renal or immunologic disease preferred.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Team-player comfortable in fast-moving, dynamic environments.
  • Must be based in the assigned Northeast territory.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this role is $185,000 - $255,000 USD. The exact base pay will depend on factors including geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.
