Field Mechanic (IBEW 55) → Field Mechanic

Support project sites across the service area by performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on fleet equipment. Travel locally within Iowa to support team operations, and respond to emergencies outside regular hours. A company-provided vehicle, fuel card, and lodging are included.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting on various equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment condition.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist and oversee less experienced mechanics when needed.
• Work independently, demonstrating strong judgment and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair, or vocational/technical training with similar experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Reliable, with a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and ability to work as a team player.
• Proficient with mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory guidelines (DOT, OSHA, EPA).
• Current work authorization in the U.S.
