About the role

Basis is seeking an experienced events manager to lead the development and execution of strategic events for the company. This role will be responsible for planning and running 40+ events annually, including customer community events, multi-city roadshows, industry trade shows, and executive dinners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building events functions from the ground up, with a focus on measurable outcomes and pipeline impact.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute 40+ events per year across various formats, including customer community events, multi-city roadshows, industry trade shows, and executive dinners.
  • Design pre-show outreach, on-site meeting programs, and post-event follow-up sequences to convert booth traffic and attendee engagement into qualified pipeline.
  • Own event budgets, vendor relationships, and timelines, ensuring smooth execution of events.
  • Build a repeatable events playbook to scale the team's output without increasing effort.
  • Measure event performance through pipeline impact and use data to inform future strategies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience owning B2B events end-to-end, including conferences, trade shows, executive experiences, and customer community events.
  • Comfortable with building events functions from scratch and executing high-touch event moments such as executive dinners and partner programs.
  • Experience working closely with sales teams to manage high-touch event moments and understand buyer personas across CPA firms.
  • Proficiency in event management platforms and CRM systems, with a willingness to leverage AI to enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to travel 15-25% (a handful of major, in-person conferences; the rest coordinated from the NYC office).
  • In-person 5 days a week in our Flatiron office (when not traveling).

Qualifications

  • Strong brand instinct and ability to ensure Basis consistently shows up in every room, from signage and swag to booth design and team presence.
  • Strategic execution skills, able to toggle seamlessly between high-level event strategy and hands-on, day-of execution.
  • Ruthless organizational skills, managing multiple events simultaneously across both owned and third-party programs without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Data-driven approach, measuring event performance through to pipeline and using data to guide future strategies.

Skills

  • Enterprise event expertise: Supporting sales teams through high-touch event moments and understanding buyer personas across CPA firms.
  • Accounting industry fluency: Familiarity with the accounting profession, industry associations like AICPA and state societies, and buyer personas across CPA firms.
  • Tools and systems: Proficiency in event management platforms and CRM systems, with an eagerness to use AI to streamline the events function.

Benefits

  • Health & Wellness: Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; and 6 coaching and 6 therapy sessions through Spring Health.
  • Time off: Unlimited PTO plus 12 paid company holidays.
  • In-Office Perks: Daily meal stipends, a fully stocked kitchen, and $300 toward your custom desk setup.
  • Financial Benefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits and 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Team Culture: Monthly office activities and frequent optional team happy hours.
  • Parental Leave: Comprehensive parental leave policies.
