About the Role
This position focuses on producing store inventory results to identify operational issues such as theft, accounting errors, paperwork discrepancies, pricing, and cash discrepancies. You will evaluate inventory conditions and adherence to company shrink control systems through physical counts and audits.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support an audit process with 1-3 Field Audit Control Specialists to conduct physical inventories of store merchandise, including saleable items, overstocks, damaged product, and returns.
- Evaluate inventory conditions against the company’s audit readiness standards, coaching store managers on proper standards and delivering results professionally.
- Produce immediate audit results by comparing physical inventory against book balances, adjusting for sales, purchases, transfers, and price changes on both retail and cost bases.
- Research inventory results for accuracy, making necessary adjustments using corporate reports, vendor data, retailing figures, and accounting discrepancies.
- Evaluate store managers’ execution of company shrink standards through multi-tiered questions and feedback, assessing the validity of paperwork and statements.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, accuracy, and speed in audit processes.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree preferred).
- Minimum Experience: Retail Guest Service Leader, Shift Supervisor, or Keyholder (Retail Store Manager or inventory auditing experience preferred).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), ability to deliver feedback professionally, teamwork, self-discipline, and analytical judgment.
- Travel: Ability to travel long distances daily and overnight as needed.
- Availability: Full-time hours Monday–Friday, averaging 40–45 hours per week with early start times (typically 5:00 AM).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/kneel/squat for long periods, and work in varying temperatures (e.g., freezers, refrigeration).
