Job Description Supervise work activities and lead a team of Field Inspectors to ensure procedures are being followed. Observe sampling of vessels, railcars, trucks, and stockpiles following the established protocols to obtain representative samples. Train Field Inspectors according to approved methods and SOPs. Champion & Train field inspectors team on the use of Health & Safety and Reporting systems. Requisition materials and supplies for operations. Prepare and review reports. Ensure work practices and field inspections are carried out according to established methods, SOPs and that they meet all QC standards and best practices where this is required or appropriate. Ensure the proper use and (preventative) maintenance of department equipment and tools. Maintain and record equipment calibrations. Follow all company health, safety and environmental policies. Qualifications High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Post-Secondary Education (degree or diploma) in a Science related program is a strong asset. Over 3 years’ experience in a related industry a strong asset. Over 3 years of previous supervisory experience would be a definite asset; Strong leadership skills and experience in supervising small teams in similar environment (inspection, construction, or industrial environment). Licences/Certifications: Must have a valid drivers License. Must have a valid TWIC CardKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good hand eye coordination when handling samples and various equipment. Candidate must can use various types of computer software (word, excel, etc.)Demonstrates good verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work well with others and independently. Works well under pressure. Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment. Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail. Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
