Field Human Resources Director
Clean Harbors is seeking a Field Human Resources Director to oversee the development and execution of line-of-business-focused people strategies that align with and support the overall company strategy.
About the role
Accountable for leading and developing a team of Field Human Resource Business Partners, as well as partnering closely with Center of Excellence (COE) leadership teams across the Human Resources department to drive and deliver innovative, value-added solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development and execution of HR strategic initiatives in alignment with the business unit strategic plan.
- Strategically works with business leaders to develop and deploy effective employee lifecycle planning, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee development to meet current and future business needs and provide best-in-class HR service in support of overall company goals.
- In partnership with COE leadership, identifies and prioritizes the needs of the business unit related to the HR centers of excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Development).
- Oversees the collaboration and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and interprets the company's policies/procedures.
- Leads and develops a team of HR Business Partners and Generalists.
- Serves as the point of escalation for complex employee relations issues. Ensures effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring insurance regulatory compliance.
- Partners with the legal department as required.
- Leverages knowledge of HR best practices and industry trends to deliver best-in-class HR programs and services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in a similar field.
- Ability to bridge cross-functional boundaries within an organization, make decisions in adverse situations, and resolve conflicts with sound judgment while balancing business needs with the role of employee advocate.
- Strong influencing skills, experience managing a team and multiple projects.
- Solution-oriented with a strategic approach to problem-solving, strong business acumen, change management skills, effective coaching, consulting, presentation/public speaking skills, and project management experience.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
